An anomaly exists when a situation is different from what is normally expected. Anything that challenges or deviates from the societal ‘norm’ can hence or otherwise be classified as an anomaly. The deviation from ‘the common’ and the purpose of theatre to challenge societal ills that have now become the ‘norm’ can also be discussed and presented. An anomaly in science provokes thought, but we still think of a powerful man as a born leader and a powerful woman as an anomaly. So, is an anomaly good or bad? What purpose does an anomaly serve in the progress of mankind? How does an anomaly help us make sense of our world? Through every rift of discovery some seeming anomaly drops out of the darkness, and falls, as a golden link into the great chain of order. What anomaly will we discover?
